Helen's Table

My latest piece.  Its a half circle toughened glass topped console table, made from English walnut and ripple sycamore with an oak center piece.  A different shape from my previous flower tables, I've kept a flowing curve to the legs with exposed contrasting woods following the edges.  the legs 'wrap' over the glass holding it securely and adding strength to the structure.

This is a continuation of the last post which didn't want to let me post all the pictures I wanted!

Heeley Stack

A commission from a very lovely couple who chose the woods they wanted and the size drawers.  They also specified organic handles that followed the grain of the drawer fronts, which I think have worked out very well!
The timbers used for this Stack are, from the bottom up - English Oak, Elm, Sycamore and English Walnut, again with Olive Ash drawer linings and Cedar of Lebanon drawer bases.

Stacked Desk with fitted 'Smooth Runnings' solid Walnut sliding topped humidor!

Stacked Desk with fitted 'Smooth Runnings' solid Walnut sliding topped humidor!

This desk works in the same way as my Stack designs, that is each drawer box is held together magnetically, and the solid elm top is magetised to the top boxes.

I've used beautiful solid European hardwoods throughout.  The English walnut humidor fits snugly within the central left drawer.  The beauty of this totally original humidor design is that because of the sliding top the cigars can be accessed easily without having to pull the drawer right out, and because of the rounded ends and hooked top it can be easily removed and replaced into the drawer if desired.

The Blooming Lovely Flower Table

The Blooming Lovely Flower Table

The Blooming Lovely Flower Table is a beautiful curved table inspired by flowers.  For this piece I wanted to design something truly organic.  I was drawn to the shape of the fuschia and the gentle curves of long grass, so used those natural lines to create the curves of this table. I steam bent and laminated sycamore and walnut to create the 'petals' with a dash of ripe red splitting the turned tiger oak 'stamen' this piece is elegant, organic and blooming lovely!

Jewellery Box

This box was created for a Very Special Client for an important (but publicly unspecified) birthday.  Its made from sycamore with a book-matched walnut burr veneer top and base.

The sliding inside boxes are made from unfinished cedar of Lebanon so every time she opens the box she will get a gentle waft of natural perfume.

The base and boxes are upholstered in padded blue velvet and there's a personal lazer engraved message for the V.S.C on the inside boxes.

Having said that, all my clients are Very Special! (Although I'm married to this one).
